1. Polestar 5

Likely to launch in late 2025, the Polestar 5 is a performance car; an electric 4-door GT. It’ll house an 800-Volt battery, able to rapid-charge at over 300 kW. Built on the brand’s first bespoke EV architecture, competitors are likely to include the Porsche Taycan and the Lotus Eletra. The Polestar 5 will be Polestar’s most powerful car yet and although range is yet to be confirmed, its anticipated it’ll achieve at least 385 miles.

2. Cupra Raval

Set to enter production this year, possibly next, Cupra’s radical Raval will be an affordable, compact EV; essentially a supermini. Based on the VW Group’s Small MEB platform, it’ll be in keeping with Cupra’s sporty image and fitted with a single front-mounted electric motor. The Cupra Raval is anticipated to offer around 270 miles of range, with a choice of 2 battery sizes: 38kWh and 56kWh. A user-focused cabin and infotainment tech aligning with other cars in the VW Group are to be expected.  Its decent range ensures company car drivers are able to travel long distances without frequent stops, making it as suited to long road trips as it is for city commuting.

3. Neue Klasse BMW iX3

BMW’s new Neue Klasse electric-car architecture will underpin an array of new models including this mid-size SUV – essentially the replacement for the popular BMW X3, set to go on sale in 2025. 800V electrical architecture will underpin the new iX3 allowing for around 180 miles of charge in just 10 minutes.

20 percent more aerodynamic, with new, more efficient tyres and a smarter regenerative braking system, the iX3 will be 25 percent more efficient overall. It should be capable of 375 miles between changes which is nearly 100 miles more than the current iX3 on the market.

4. Range Rover Electric

Tipped to go on sale in 2025, the first all-electric Range Rover will look almost identical to the current model with a 800-volt charging architecture for fast charging capabilities which will be a key selling point for company car drivers. With double the voltage of most other EVs, it should have a maximum charge rate of over 250 kW. It’s also sure to have the same go-anywhere ability of its siblings, including being able to wade through 850 mm of water.

5. Range Rover Sport Electric

Due on the market in 2025, the electric version of the Range Rover Sport’s likely to be slightly smaller than the flagship and a little more affordable too. It will likely rival the Lotus Eletre and an upcoming electric Porsche Cayenne. Fans of the non-electric Range Rover Sport will likely flock to this electric version which will offer a quieter drive but with an interior similar to the gas model. It will offer a selection of sustainable materials and the driver display and  infotainment system are expected to feature model-specific powertrain information. An EPA-estimated range of around 300 miles is being anticipated as well as 2 output levels to cater to both economy-focused and performance-focused customers, with fast charging capabilities meaning company car drivers should be able to charge from 10-80% in 20-25 minutes.

6. Hyundai Ioniq 9

This large, 3-row, all-electric SUV, should grace our roads towards the end of the year and give a range of more than 385 miles. With superior space for all travellers, the lounge-like atmosphere is reminiscent of flying business class, but on the road, immersed in natural light from the panoramic sunroof. Relaxation Seats are available in the 1st row, which can fully recline with a leg rest for optimal comfort. Comfy roominess extends to the front row where you’ll find premium seats and a panoramic curved display, floating dashboard and ambient interior lighting. Charging the long range version from 10 percent to 80 percent just takes around 24 minutes.

7.Audi A6 e-tron

The Audi A6 is Audi’s new electric car which launched in the latter half of last year. It’s Audi’s most aerodynamic model which is important news for company car drivers as it increases the all-important range between charges. This, in addition to its large batteries, means it can travel further between charges than many of its rivals, making it a great choice as an electric executive car for drivers who might be considering vehicles including rivals such as the BMW i5 and Mercedes EQE. Exact range depends on which version you chose but the mid-spec Sport e-tron Performance manages a very respectable 464 miles officially.

8.VW ID2

Expected to make its debut by 2026, the new Volkswagen ID 2’s an affordable, small electric car offering a range of up to 280 miles, making it a great company car at the lower budget end of the spectrum. Rivals will include the MG4 EV. To top up the battery from 10-80% will take as little as 20 minutes, meaning company car drivers won’t be stopped for too long when on business trips. Reminiscent of the Volkswagen Golf and the smaller Volkswagen Polo, it will appeal to company car drivers who would otherwise have considered these vehicles. They’ll be pleasantly surprised that even though its similar in size to the Polo, it’s got more interior space due to a longer wheelbase.

9. Kia EV5

Already on the market in other countries, the EV5 is a mid-size electric SUV set to arrive in the UK in the second half of 2025, so it’s a company car drivers should be able to get their hands on fairly soon. Larger than the Kia EV3 small SUV but smaller than the Kia EV9 large SUV, it follows a similar style to both and sits at the ideal size for many company car drivers who are looking for a company car that’s perfect for both work and play, with the ability to double up as a family car. In fact,  Kia claim that the EV5 will offer more interior space than any traditional mid-size SUV.  Available with a choice of two batteries for standard- and long-range versions, offering up to 345 miles of range between charges, the EV5 has also been heralded as a car with a normal appearance; if you’re reluctant to exchange the traditional looks of your current company car for one that looks visibly electric, this could be the car to soften the transition.

10. Tesla Model 3

Many would argue that an electric car top 10 can’t possibly be complete without a Tesla featuring, and since the Tesla Model 3 is already a staple among electric company car drivers we just had to include it, especially since a new variant launched in October, with one of the longest ranges of any EV. The Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive model is positioned between the entry-level car with a smaller battery and the pre-existing long-range variant. By combining the bigger battery with the less powerful single-motor drivetrain, Tesla now offers a Model 3 capable of a claimed 436 miles on a charge, making it even better for company car drivers making long journeys. The Model 3 was named Best Executive Car at the Whatcar? Car of the Year Awards.
