Wessex Fleet has announced a major career transition for one of its management figures, Kayleigh Potter, following a decade of multimillion-pound growth within the company’s corporate rental division.
Kayleigh is stepping into an elevated management capacity to steer the company’s evolving operational and fleet strategy. Her career update follows a remarkable ten-year tenure as Rental Manager, during which she transformed a minor business department into a core corporate revenue driver. Kayleigh entered the automotive industry nearly 20 years ago, working on reception and then in sales support at vehicle data specialist HPI before rising to lead their sales support team.
She joined Wessex Fleet a decade ago, initially managing a rental department of just two people alongside long-term Rental Co-ordinator, Bryce Ginger, who joined six months later.
Under Kayleigh’s leadership, the division has scaled significantly, doubling its headcount with the recent additions of team members Sian and Tamsin, and fundamentally shifting Wessex Fleet’s business model. Kayleigh successfully established and managed the company’s own dedicated rental fleet, navigating complex nationwide logistics to meet the demands of major corporate clients.

Today, the division manages a current spend of over £5 million per year, placing well over 1,200 reservations a month and delivering 165,000 rental days annually. This robust operational infrastructure has allowed Wessex Fleet to attract an expanding portfolio of large corporate fleet clients. The rental division now provides critical gap-management vehicles during lease transitions, temporary vehicles during maintenance downtime, and full-scale solutions for pure-rental corporate fleets, such as nationwide 4x4 deployments for environmental services firms.
In her new role as Head of Fleet Operations, Kayleigh will leverage her 20 years of industry experience to oversee these complex logistics, drive corporate supplier relationships, and spearhead the next phase of Wessex Fleet’s commercial growth.
